Over the last couple of weeks we have spent some time working in Photoshop.  For work I have had to develop flyers and other items to be passed around the community.  I had always just played around with a photo or image until I got it to where I wanted to get it.  I had never had a class or any instruction on the program.  Over the last couple weeks I have gained a greater understanding of what all the tools do and the best way to use them.  We have had the chance to cut out and past images to make our own unique image.  We have had the chance to take an image and crop out parts of the photo that we do not want included in the image.  Along with this we have learned to change the color of a picture using many different options.  There are ways to clean up your images color and make it look brighter or darker after the photo has been taken.  I have been able to take what I have learned in class and use it in my work setting.  Working in the marketing department we are always creating flyers and trying to make them stand out among the other materials out in the community.  Below is an example of a flyer that I have just recently created to promote the upcoming Utah Gymnastics season.

Today in Electronic Marketing we are learning to create our own blog in weebly.  So far the website seems to be fairly easy to navigate through the page.  Our first assignment for the blog page is to discuss the AIDA of a selected webpage of our choice.  The webpage that I have chosen to look at for this assignment is teamusa.org

Attention:  The website teamusa.org is a website designed for people to visit and learn about Team USA’s Olympic Team.  The site grabs your attention by posting different images and stories about individual Olympic athletes.  With the 2012 Games just finishing the websites tops stories features many of the athletes we watched in London and what they are doing a month later.  They use the images to draw your attention to each story.

Interest:  On the site they keep your attention by posting stories about athletes that are making headlines around the sports world.  Not all the stories are about their athletic achievement.  Some of the stories show the personal side of the athletes.  The website also links to many different pages where you can see videos, images, buy product, and donate to the Olympic Team.  The site also has a twitter feed for you to follow members of Team USA and you can see what they are tweeting at this moment.

Desire:  The website does create a desire to keep you on their page.  With so many different stories and information available on the site people can learn just about anything on their favorite Olympic athlete.  The website allows you to read their bios, catch the next upcoming televised event, and read about upcoming Olympics.  The stories on the website look to change very frequently which keeps the viewer coming back.

Action:  While looking at the site they do ask you to perform some action.  They link you to the Team USA shop where you can buy Team USA gear.  The site also has a donate page where you can donate to the athletes that are training for future Olympic Games.  The site is dedicated to these athletes and providing funding is one of the most important tool for this site.
